Join Scott Matthews as he presents “Teaching Duval History from the Timucua to the Jags” on July 20 at 6:30 p.m. 

In this talk, Scott Matthews, professor of history at FSCJ, will discuss a new and innovative course now being offered at FSCJ on the history of Jacksonville and Duval County. The course is now available for FSCJ students and interested community members. He will explain the importance of offering a college-level course on local history and how he has used local and online archives to create unique and engaging content for students. The talk will feature some of the fruits of this research, including photographs, film clips, and music.
