Florida East Coast Railway offered some of America’s finest rail passenger service until 1968 and remains the freight lifeline of Florida’s east coast.  This comprehensive history  begins with Henry Flagler’s purchase of the Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Halifax River Railway in 1885 and follows its development through the 20^th century.
