Captain John Mitchell, USN (Ret), the Commanding Officer of Naval Station Mayport when the USS Stark (FFG-31) was attacked on May 17, 1987, will discuss the events that followed from the home front perspective.
From informing and consoling families to the arrival of President & Mrs. Reagan, hear how the men and women of the Mayport community handled this tragic event.
